Some Free Color Grading Softwares Recommended:

1. DaVinci Resolve (Formerly DaVinci Resolve Lite)
If you're looking for a free program that you can use to your advantage, this is the one for you. It includes all of the features that you would receive from the full DaVinci Resolve program. The catch is that projects can only be UHD resolutions or less than that. You will also only be able to process on a single rocket card or GPU and there isn't stereo 3D support. Other features that are missing include: noise reduction, sharing, remote grading, and power mastering. If you're starting out, this would be an excellent program to get an idea of how color grading can change an image or frame.

2. Red Giant Colorista Free
Colorista is an amazing product with an amazingly powerful color finishing tool that works in NLEs and After Effects as a plug-in at a cost of $199. The free version has a simple three-way color correction tool and numeric inputs. In tandem with the built-in tracking masks in Adobe Premier CC 2014, the color is stable with powerful primary and secondary tools.

Colorista Free works with:
*Adobe After Effects CC, CS6, CS5, CS4, CS3
*Adobe Premiere Pro CC, CS6, CS5
* Apple Final Cut Pro 6, 7

If you're not charging your customers for color correction you can simply rely on built-in color grading tools or plugins instead of booting up your favorite program. Time is money, so choosing the most efficient and professional method is your best bet.
