Convert DVD footage for Editing in DaVinci Resolve

However, the disappointed fact is that Davinci Resolve only accepts QuickTime movie files, .DV, .TNF, .AVI, .MP2 + .WAV, and sequential .TGA or .TIF, 2K, 4K, 5K film formats. Obviously DVD is not included in this list. Guide to Rip and Import footage on DVD to DaVinci Resolve

1. Load DVD files

First, insert your DVDs into DVD Drive, and then drag the DVD files to the program; Or you can click "Disc" icon to draw into DVD movies you want to rip. Alternatively, you can hit "ISO/IFO" button to import IFO files.

2. Select output format

Click format column to Choose Avid Media Composer->Avid DNxHD(*.mov) as output format for DaVinci Resolve 11.

Tip: Before conversion, you can click "Settings" button right besides "Format" and enter "Profile Settings" panel to adjust video size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channels.

3. Start conversion and then add videos to Davinci Resolve

When all the settings are fine, click the Convert button to start converting your DVD movies to Davinci Resolve DNxHD MOV files. When the conversion completes, locate the results videos ready to imported into Resolve 11.
