How to Rip Blu-ray for Playback with PS4/PS3?

There have been an intensive debate on which one is the best game console in the current world - PS4 or Xbox One for a long time. To be honest, it is hard to choose for both side impress me greatly for their dazzling graphics and fantastic controller. But at least on one aspect, Sony PS4 has the upper hand over its rival Xbox One on supporting for DVD/Blu-ray playback.

However, this Xbox One's competitor seems to be far from perfectness with regard to the Blu-ray feature. Based on my own experiment and customer's feedback, the quick workaround is to convert Blu-ray to PS4 supported video formats like MPEG4, H264, etc. Actually, it is easy and worth your effort as long as you have a right Blu-ray to PS4 converter software like Brorsoft Blu-ray ripper. It offers specified video formats for PS4, PS3, PSP and many other game hardware like Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii and more. Steps to convert Blu-ray to PS4/PS3 supported video formats

Step 1. Import your Blu-ray movies

Download and install Brorsoft Blu-ray Ripper. Launch it and click the Load disc button to import the Blu-ray files that you want to convert to play with PS4 or PS3. Both ISO, IFO and files in DVD Folder can also be loaded.

Step 2. Select PS4 compatible video format

Click the Format box and select PSP/PS3 > Sony PS Video (*.mp4) as the export format, which comes with the best video/audio settings for PS3 but also fit PS4 seamlessly.

Tip: If the default video/parameters can't meet your needs, just click Settings icon to adjust the video codec, bitrate, frame rate, audio sample rate, etc to get a decent video as you want. In principle, the larger input values, the better output quality, but the corresponding larger file size.

Step 3. Start ripping Blu-ray to PS4/PS3

How to Play these encoded disk image files on PS4/PS3?

Note: Once you got the ripped Blu-ray movies ready to be added to PS3 or PS4, you can refer to the different ways to put videos to PS3/PS4.

A. For adding videos to PS3, easy as pie. If you're using a USB flash or hard disc or an SD or CF card, just dump all of your videos into a folder named VIDEO on the root of the drive and they'll show up automatically.

B. Currently there are many topics about how to play videos on PS4. As most guys complained, the PS4 does not support external HDD, and you cannot view movies on PS4 through USB as well. Luckily, there is a workaround for you to get videos from PC to PS4. You can just stream your video files to PS4 from PC via Plex:

1. Download Plex Media Server from https://my.plexapp.com/downloads and set up your media before signing into Plex through the Settings.
2. Then, you navigate to https://my.plexapp.com/ on your PS4 through the browser and sign-in.
3. Head to your media server and voila. You have access to all your DLNA media.
