Fix Plex Doesn't Recognize DivX Videos

Q: "Ripped some DVD's over the weekend using DiVX. Once I load them onto my Plex movie share, I ran the library update, and it refuses to see them. I haven't seen this before. Do I need to re-rip them?"

From the Plex forum, some users are crying for the solution to fix Plex won't recognize the DivX videos correctly. In fact, Plex does recognize the divx codec, which is just a type of mpeg4. It won't recognize .divx as an extension if that is what you are using. divx should be in an avi, mp4, or mkv container. Step 1. Import DivX Videos
